The Legend of Link: Ganon's Curse
A Zelda Classic Quest for version 1.92 (b183)
by FlakyHedgehog

-- 1. Story --

Like in many other Zelda tales, Ganon is trying to conquer Hyrule.
This time, he's cast a curse on Hyrule that saps the life force from the land
and transfers it to him and his minions. As a side effect of the curse, the
Triforce of Courage has shattered.
The curse can only be broken by rebuilding the Triforce of Courage. Unless it
is broken, Ganon will become all-powerful and Hyrule will wither to dust...
Once again, the kingdom calls out for a hero. Can Link save Hyrule?

-- 3. Topography of Hyrule --

Here is a very loose map of Hyrule. A description of each major area follows.

+---------+--------------------------------------+
| M t . | I r o n H i l l s |
|H y d r a| |
| +-------+---------+------------+-------|
| | |Horseshoe| | Grave-|
+---------+ | Lake | +-------+ yard |
| +---------+ |Kasuto | |
+------+ G a s h a |Village+-------+
| Hedge| W o o d s +-------+ |
| Maze | |S e a s h o r e|
+------+-----------------------------------------+

Terrible ASCII, I know. Anyway...

- Gasha Woods: This large forest in the center of Hyrule is where you start
your adventure. Link's House, where you start your adventure, is in the
    middle of the woods.

- Kasuto Village: This is a small village near the base of the Iron Hills. A
swordsmith is rumored to live here, and there is also a shop. Rumor has it
that there's another shop just to the southwest of the village, which has
    different items for sale.

- Graveyard: Overlooking the village, the Graveyard has recently become
inaccessible due to some strange-looking shrubs growing under evil
influence. Ordinary flames don't affect these bushes.

- Horseshoe Lake: As its name implies, it's shaped like a horseshoe. There's a
fairy nearby in case you're injured. What lies in the middle of the lake?

- Iron Hills: This small mountain range lies north of the woods. It's barren
    and dangerous, so come prepared.

- Mt. Hydra: West of the Iron Hills, this tall mountain is named for the lake
at its peak. It cannot be accessed by normal means.

- Hedge Maze: Guarded by Moblins, this maze on the west end of the woods
    surely holds a valuable secret.

-- 4. Hints --

- Use keys in dungeons they're found in. If you mess up and have to buy a key,
the Kasuto Village Shop carries them, but the price is very steep.

- Usually, the treasure you find in a dungeon is key to reaching the next one.

- The spike pits you find in some dungeons can be crossed with the Ladder.

- As you progress through the dungeons, you'll find a small assortment of
block puzzles. Most of them involve creating symmetrical patterns to open
the way forwards. (Many of them will also resemble room layouts from the
original Legend of Zelda when they are solved.)

- There are very few walk-through walls in this quest, but the few that do
  exist often hide great rewards.

- Likewise, there are few places on the overworld where the Whistle can call
forth a secret, but you will be richly rewarded if you do find one.

- Umm...when you go to Level 4, it might be wise to bring a Potion...and a
Magic Shield...and some bombs. Don't say I didn't warn you.

-- 5. Credits --

- Phantom Menace, for the Demo tileset. (Believe it or not, that's what this
  quest's tileset started out as.)

- Radien's New BS tileset for the dungeon walls and non-palette-cycling
  dungeon water.

- VGMusic.com, for the MIDIs. (Many of which come from Castlevania 2.)

- Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto for creating The Legend of Zelda, arguably
the greatest video game series of all time.

- The creators of Zelda Classic, because ever since I was little I always
wanted to make my own Zelda game.
